Story behind the Forge
The goal for tuning Igris was simple yet challenging – creating an earphone that lived up
to its name, that would have a powerful, charismatic sound with a very profound and
bold bass response. I would say Igris achieved almost the entirety of the sound I
originally envisioned.
Early prototypes received mixed feedback, some testers feeling the sound leaned too
heavily into ACG or K-Pop tuning, while others also commenting the sound is too
smooth, being at the odds with the strong image the name “Igris” should evoke, which I
fully agreed with.
Igris shouldn’t be an ordinary, easy-going earphone. Igris needs impact, strength, and
energy. We’ve developed a completely new dynamic driver specially for Igris, we finally
brought the Igris sound to life as I had imagined and intended as.
Sound Signature of Igris
Utilizing the proprietary dynamic driver, Igris delivers deep, punchy bass, so much so
that we would call it "the son of Mousa". Tuning the perfect mids was another obstacle
AME had to overcome. With Sonion’s latest G90D BA driver, Igris' vocals have a unique,
expressive timbre where the mid-range is smooth while bringing out exceptional
transparency.
Another part we've paid great attention to is the planar driver we've utilized for the highs
and ultra-highs. Planar drivers are prone to sounding choppy and unnatural if not tuned
correctly, so we opted for a precise crossover with the mid-range BA drivers. As a result,
Igris plays a seamless, natural transition from mids to highs and ultra-highs, allowing
Igris to have a fluid, coherent sound across the entire spectrum.
