Thanks to the folks at Musicteck for offering a discount on the Astral Acoustics Mercury balanced cable! I have been listening intently on the already superb Focal Celestee headphones, and in comparing with the stock 3.5 single-ended, I have to say there is a marked difference in the warmth and expansion of soundstage in orchestral and jazz combo recordings with the Astral. There is a noticeable increase in bass response, akin to "openng a door" onto the recording stage! The individual instruments in small combo chamber music or jazz, the Astral Mercury seems to highlight the flovor of individual instruments, while still preserving the wide soundstage, and the place of each instrument in it. In short, a great advance on the stock cable, and totally a worthwhile buy, if you are looking for a maximum potential from your Celestee. Very durable cable, somewhat stiff, but I don't find that an issue. Thanks again to our friends at Musicteck, for making me aware of this outstanding cable!
