Six Years On, the HA-6A Legacy Continues

The HA-6A MK2 is the long-awaited second-generation upgrade to Cayin’s
acclaimed HA-6A. Featuring a newly adopted dual-chassis architecture, it physically
separates the power supply from the amplification circuit to minimize magnetic
interference. With a fully hand-wired, point-to-point design, the HA-6A MK2 offers
pure signal transmission. All while preserving the lush, emotional sound Cayin is
known for.

Tube Configuration

At the core of the HA-6A MK2 are carefully selected and matched vacuum tubes,
including:

• 2 × JJ GZ34 / 5AR4 (High-voltage tube rectification
• 2 × JJ ECC82 / 12AU7 (Voltage amplification stage)
• 2 × Genalex KT88 (Class A single-ended power amplification)

Each tube was chosen for its acoustic character, stability, and longevity. The power
tubes operate in a pure single-ended Class A configuration, offering superb linearity.
Designed with tube enthusiasts in mind, the amplifier offers broad tube rolling
compatibility—supporting power tubes such as 6550, KT66, KT150, and more.

Dual Operating Modes: Triode & Ultralinear

To adapt the sound to various musical genres and listening preferences, the HA-6A
MK2 features two selectable operating modes:

• Triode Mode (TR): Smooth, elegant, and naturally warm. Ideal for vocals, jazz, and acoustic music.
• Ultralinear Mode (UL): Extended dynamics, firmer bass, and improved control—suited for orchestral or cinematic recordings.

Switching is easily accessible from the front panel, allowing for immediate real-time
listening comparisons.

Versatile Connectivity with Preamp Capability

• The HA-6A MK2 features a two set of input terminals:
• XLR Balanced Input
• RCA Unbalanced Input

A comprehensive set of headphone outputs

• 6.35mm Unbalanced
• 4.4mm Balanced
• 4-pin XLR Balanced

Accommodating a wide range of headphone types and connection preferences.
In addition to its headphone amplification duties, it also includes an RCA preamp
output, allowing it to function as a high-quality tube preamplifier when connected to a
separate power amplifier or active speakers.

Dual-Chassis Design

To maximize performance, the HA-6A MK2 adopts a separated power supply and amplifier chassis design. This architecture minimizes magnetic interference.

• Custom EI output transformers and a dedicated toroidal power transformer are specially developed for the HA-6A MK2.
• Internal component shielding and optimized module layout ensure low noise.
