FlipEars Arion Founder’s Edition

The original Arion was limited to 150 units worldwide, and every one of them has sold. For those who missed it, and for those who want to hear what more Arion can do, the Founder’s Edition is its next chapter. It is the same Arion at heart, now paired with a new cable, the founder’s personal choice of eartips, and accessories chosen by the FlipEars founder to reflect exactly how they listen.

The Arion at Its Core

Arion is the flagship of FlipEars’ Arsenal Collection, built around a quadbrid driver configuration that blends speed, scale, and physical impact. A custom 10mm DLC-coated dual-magnet dynamic driver drives the low end, three proprietary FlipEars balanced armatures handle the mids, and a SPARK electret tweeter carries the highs. An EarQuake bone conduction driver adds a layer of texture and physical presence that conventional IEMs cannot reach. In the Founder’s Edition, the shells, drivers, and tuning are unchanged.

A New Cable That Opens Arion Up

The original Arion shipped with a bespoke Eletech cable. The Founder’s Edition replaces it with FlipEars’ own design, built on its proprietary AeroDielectric Geometry. Silver-plated copper conductors are arranged around precision air channels, which reduces the interaction between the signal and the insulation around it while keeping the cable’s geometry consistent. The cable keeps the same jewelry-cast hardware, so it looks every bit as striking as the IEM it connects to.

What it brings to Arion is clearly audible. The soundstage grows more spacious, giving each recording more air and a greater sense of depth. Imaging becomes more precise, so voices and instruments sit in clearly defined places, and separation improves enough that dense mixes stay clean and easy to follow. Treble turns smoother and more natural, keeping its detail and sparkle without any edge. Female vocals benefit most of all, gaining a richer texture and a more intimate, lifelike presence. Arion’s tuning stays the same. The Founder’s Edition cable simply lets more of it come through.

Three Eartips, Including the Founder’s Choice

Fit shapes sound as much as any cable, so the Founder’s Edition includes three types of eartips. Alongside the Baroque eartips and the FlipEars stock eartips, it adds the founder’s personal choice: a custom-made set designed around the fit and sound the founder prefers with Arion. All three types come in small, medium, and large, making it easy to find the seal that works best for you.

Founder’s Edition Extras

Each Founder’s Edition comes in dedicated packaging with a letter signed by the founder, a personal note from the person who created Arion. A 3D-printed eartip holder is also included as a gift, keeping all three sets of eartips organized and ready to swap.
