Highlights: Evo Era is a very flexible all-in-one desktop system. It gives you both Delta Sigma and R2R DAC options, multiple decoding modes, three analog timbre settings, Class A and Class AB operation, plus different gain and power levels. There is a lot to play with, and the changes are easy to hear.

Suited Genres: Very versatile overall. Its big and powerful presentation works especially well with orchestral, soundtrack, rock, metal, jazz, and vocal music.

Impressions:

What impressed me first about Evo Era is simply how much it can do. You can switch between different DAC architectures, decoding modes, amp timbres, Class A and Class AB, and different power settings. It gives you a lot of freedom to fine-tune the sound around your headphones or IEMs.

The sound itself is big and impressive. Evo Era has a very grand sense of scale, with a wide soundstage and powerful presentation that gives music real presence.

Bass is solid and well grounded, with good weight and authority. The mids are dense, smooth, and lush, giving vocals and instruments a very natural sense of body and richness. The treble is especially nice. It is smooth and silky, but still has a polished shimmer. A slight sweetness and gloss make the top end feel refined and attractive without becoming sharp or tiring.

Overall, Evo Era combines a rich and musical sound with an unusually flexible feature set. It sounds big, powerful, smooth, and polished, while still giving you plenty of ways to adjust the presentation to your own taste.
